Networking is simply talking to people you know to find job leads. It is the most effective way to find a job. Most of us find jobs through people we already know such as family, friends, teachers, counselors... people we meet during our normal everyday lives.
Consider the groups listed below. Then on a sheet of paper write the names of people from each group who may be able to help you in your job search. They don't have to be the names of people you know well, just people who may be able to give you some helpful information. Many adults are pleased to help young people find their way in the world of work.
